I'm a simple man but I love it when creators reference their other works subtly in a project, and that makes me happy.

Sounds like a fascinating and sad game, and it's certainly beautiful. Maybe this is a game I'll have a better look at when I can handle a bit of external sadness.

Yeah you have to be prepared. It's very sad, but the game isn't melancholy in nature, a lot of the moment to moment is fun and funny. It's such a beautiful balance.

Loved this game when I played it, and it might be getting long enough since then for a re-visit. The walking simulator description definitely feels a bit lacking in this case, even if the term is taken without any derogatory tones, just because the dialogue selections felt so meaningful that it came across more as an RPG (in the narrative sense) to me - while the visuals are beautiful and the setting important, the dialogue is where the heart of the game lies.

Yeah I agree. It's so driven by the narrative and the characters, really great stuff. I really enjoyed this replay, definitely worth it imo 🥰

I enjoyed Firewatch a lot, not least because I could often collect up people's rubbish left in the area. Wanted to dislike Delilah, but ultimately felt sad for her it was so well put together.

Yes, same with Delilah. She's characterized so well and so definitively, nothing she says feels out of character. It's fantastic.

Wonderful review, sounds unbearably sad though, I'm not sure I could manage it. Thanks for writing so beautifully about it so I can still experience it sort of

Yeah it's really sad and there definitely isn't a happy ending which is hard to swallow. Loved it though.
