What Remains of Edith Finch was the game that really reminded me, when I got back into gaming, that video games are art. The story telling, the scenery and everything else that comes along with it are there to be in awe of and it fully achieved that with me.
Lewis’ vignette is, of course, my favourite, but I think every one of them is worthy of praise, even the gut wrenching Gregory.
Piece of trivia - the mysterious Milton is an important character in Giant Sparrow’s previous game The Unfinished Swan, confined by the devs in a Reddit AMA. I haven’t played it but I bet it’s interesting.
Sounds pretty bleak but fascinating! Almost comedic in the manner in which some of the family meet their ends, but also very much not at all in others. Sounds pretty strange, thanks for the review :)
I started playing this and then got distracted. Your piece reminds me I need to get back into it again!
A really well written and inspiring article! Shared.
Thank you 😊

Ooh that is super interesting! I think it's so cute and fun when games are connected in low key ways.
And yeah Lewis's story is a crowning achievement for the game. Incredible.

Yeah, very strage. So many layers. Great game.
